How Many Is Too Many?

Okay, so...this is pretty much the worst place to ask, but I'm gonna do it anyway.

A few years ago, I was down to four markers. Two pumps, two semis. Now I'm up to eight, potentially nine in the near future. Five/three now, nice mix of stock and open class, nelson and sheridan, blowback, blow forward, and pneumatic. No electros.

I don't get to play that much. Last couple of years, once a month if I'm really lucky. So a few of these are in violation of my "use it once a year or get rid of it" rule.

So how many is too many? How much dust must gather before selling something? Does that even matter?

(Actually, let's make this a poll.)

Too many is when you run out of walls to display them.

When you step on them like Legos, you have too many.

Last count I think was 38 currently owned here...worse still, I've got three guns in various states of pre-order right now; a Twister F5, a Niche Element, and I think I'm one or two people away on the CCM SSR order's.

I've still got at least ten guns on the unicorn/want to own list haha.

But most of the guns I own are rare or unique stuff, the ones that aren't, are usually loaned out to friends. I outfitted one of 3-man teams last year for a tournament haha.

Plus when you've paid full value for brand new DM5 back in the day....might as well keep it, better than getting $100 for it!

Too many is when you start to lose some - you find guns you never even knew you owned.

Just break it down and see where the problem areas are:

1-Pump
1-Pistol
1-FSR
1-Magfed
1-Semi
4-Electros

See, I know I have too many electronic guns, but I'm fine en masse.

My highest amount I owned was 8 at one time. I just didn't show them the love they deserved, I always played with the same 2 or 3. Now out of paintball retirement I own 2 and have set 3 as my cap.
One pump one Mech and maybe one exotic one day. Just personal choice and I don't have the cash to blow like I did in my early 20s.

I've got sixty plus in my war room, all of them have been cycled at least once this year. I know I have too many, but I also supply/loan gear to my friends for outlaw games.

There are 4-5 that will never leave me though.

That I know...A while back I had 15 or so, including a Pug and I think 4 PGPs. When I lost one of the PGPs, I knew it was time to cut back a bit.

(I found it under a pile of junk in a closet a few months later.)
