Talk about deadzones!

While doing a search I came across a webpage with quite a few paintball page links... Most of which are dead. Some of the sites I have heard of... Some were new to me. Sad that so many pages and so much knowledge has disappeared.

(Many of the URL's were dead. Some lead to other things now... like women's high heel shoes.)

Did you have a favorite paintball site that is now gone?

Angelfire.com - Paintball Link Page!!!

Most of the internet is that way. Has lots of information; mostly new information. Much knowledge is lost because much of it was not archived. I remember the info pages from G3 paintball. We finally have Ravi's pages here.

I wish Durty Dan would let Carter put his old Domain up here on MCB, at least preserve it like Ravi's stuff.

As a big Tippmann fan I really miss the info that was on 98og, a5og ,and x7og. There were many brilliant minds and I've found that a lot of info carries over to other markers. The builds on these sites were outstanding and the help was second to none.

rec.sport.paintball

I just took a look at rec.sport.paintball. Most of the stuff there has nothing to do with paintball now. It used to be a goto for me back in the day.

And what happened to warpig.com?

Has MCB inherited the crown as the defacto internet paintball resource?

Wait what happened to a5og?! I loved that site and would visit it multiple times a day when I first started playing. Why did they all get taken down. So sad

I used to be on the COG site quite a bit back in the old days. I remember doing some graphic design work for them back then and even got a shiny new Kapp trigger shoe for my efforts

It seems like most of the old "insert marker here" owners groups have disappeared over time only to be replaced by larger sites.

Pbreview.com used to be great.

I remember drooling over the reviews and pictures of WGP E-orracles back in 2002-2003ish. There were some pretty bad reviews, but also some really helpful and well written ones.

The loss of the Tippmann OGs was like a giant wealth of knowledge and information getting sucked into a black hole. There was lots of talk in both A5OG and X7OG of archiving all of the info, then A5OG blipped off, and X7OG followed suit not long after.

I feel that the loss of those sites was a catastrophic loss to the Tippmann community.

But hey, that is how I ended up here...

+1 for PBreview. I loved reading gear reviews, browsing pictures, and coming across forum threads on various topics.

A lot of funny/bad reviews as well.
