My wife has accused me of going from marker whore to marker store.

But hey - it's all about having options, right..?

So what if I had to make her a quilting and drawing room..AND give her a writing office..AND make the front room more space for more books...but I got the den all to myself...ok, well..she did let me make new tech bench setup...

She still shakes her head because when we go to thrift stores or yard sales, she is looking for deals..I am looking for NPC costumes and props...

When your paintball collection has more total value than the car you drive, you might be me.

There's only one thing, and it's only embarrassing in a certain context.

You tell a guy- almost any guy- "Yeah, I work on paintball guns for a living", most of 'em will think it's the coolest job ever.

You tell a single woman that, and what she hears is "Why yes, I live in my mother's basement and play with toys all day."

(After which she immediately ranks you about four places below Comic Book Guy on the "dateable" scale. )

I'm great at buying markers, a good ref and can build a decent field.
I can't fix a marker to save my life and I'm actually not a very good paintball player. I get shot way more than I shoot people out, but I have fun doing it.

I put more time and effort into prepping for our yearly scenario game than I do Christmas.

Every day of paintball starts with crippling anxiety until I get shot, then I'm fine.

Me too, except my anxiety is the build up until the whistle blows. I feel like death until I'm actually on the field, then I am completely fine.

Unfortunately/thankfully I am only playing about once a year now
