Way Back When...

My favorite paintball moment came years ago outlaw playing in an abandoned house in the woods. 5 inside vs. 5 outside. The house had no doors, nor glass in the windows, nor back wall. It was probably the most unsafe place we ever played...ok, there's no probably about it. It was.

Rain was coming in and it was getting dark. 3 teammates go down quick, so GanonsGrin (the Dr. Jeckyll to my Mr. Hyde) goes the attic and I stay downstairs, strip down to all black, and we go to work.

Like a surgeon, Jared picks off first one, then another, and a third from his nest. Now we are tied. The last 2 are coming in the house, and I light one up from the corner of a very dark room.

2 on 1.

This place had holes coming through the floor and the last little buggar popped his head up like a gopher and took one to the mask. He scurried through the crawlspace to get outside and looked up, with paint and rain running down his mask, at my brother hanging out of the second story window with his Spyder Compact about 10 feet from the guy's head.

Arms go up.

The Brothers Byrd win.

Hard to believe that was probably 15 years (and a hundred guns) ago.

I also liked it when I would slow walk at the bottom of the attic ladder and wait for people to look down and ask the dead players where I was at!

The house was definitely the coolest site we ever played at! Someone eventually bought up the land and built a new house back on that lot.

Thanks for the memories!

Love that story boys. Being a twin is the best thing that ever happened to me. Glad to see other brothers appreciate each other and the memories that were made.

Keep making stories so you can pass them on to baby ganonsgrin

Double FYI for paintball rules there should be no "offer" of surrender, its either mandatory surrender at X distance when guy is behind you or no surrender and you get shot in the booty. "offer" of surrender makes for some ridiculous and dangerous john woo tactics.

Not too long ago I went to a field with my sniper with ten round feed on it. The owner thought it was pretty cool and said he hadn't had anybody playing pump in a while let alone playing with ten round tubes. After a few rounds he decides to go out and play with us and joins up on the team I was one. We were playing attack and defend on the fort, he pulled me aside and tells me to follow him, so I did. Then he coaches me through the field pointing out the best angles, best bunker positions etc.. I lost count of how many kills I got before I ended up throwing "the bomb" into the fort to end the game. It was pretty freaking fun. Later playing some 3v3 on the speedball course I had one game where I took all three out singlehandedly with the third being a gogg on the run. It also happened to be the second time my oldest had ever played so now I'm a PB dad-god.. which is pretty cool. Fun day for sure.

The most accurate measure of time is "guns owned".

"Oh that event? Wasn't it about 34 guns ago?"
