-Yep. That's not by any means the only reason I won't do a preorder, but it's one of them for sure.

Doc.
A bit. Oring retention. No slot to see/get shot into but also doesn't slam down on paint cause you released a tab to hard.

I really ended up liking that feed more than I thought I would. More pics in my sig.

For feeding, I think a shotgun style loading gate/ramp in the bottom would work, though it may reduce your mag capacity. You could feed with 10 round tubes and the magazine can be spring assisted (like the OG 1860's Henry rifle), if you don't mind the spring and follower showing.

-That's the current idea. You'll have a typical follower that you slide forward and lock into the usual "L"-notch, then a gate at the bottom that you flip open, dump in a tube, it snaps shut under spring pressure, unlock the follower from the locking notch, back into the game.

Not that much different from other springfed guns.

-Actually, I really wanted to go that route originally, but there was no way to do it without using steel and brass tubes. I didn't mind the brass inner tube, but there's a limit on aluminum outer tubes with the right OD and ID. And having to bore 0.030" out of a tube 18" long is surprisingly expensive and difficult.

I'd be happy to swap data otherwise, though, as not having to have a follower slot in the feed tube would be nice- and it'd simplify making the forend scales.

Doc... Press a ball bearing of the appropriate diameter through the tube, then machine the OD is necessary.
