I can get behind this, is there a preferred link/email to contact to confirm entry and what do we have to show as proof?

Wow. So PM you or Bacci and then do the PayPal thing?
I never heard Chris' full story, you might want to flesh it out a bit for folks not in the know.
He repeatedly ran into a burning building and dragged people out? Ended up burned pretty bad? Am I making that up?

This came from one of Chris Lasoya's good friends and former Avalanche teammates, Phil Dominguez. He at first didn't want anything put up, but he's seen some of the exaggerations online and wanted to clarify.

Chris was seriously burned Sunday night at a friend's house. Chris was in the room when their Christmas tree caught fire. His back was to it, but he noticed the shadows and even felt the heat. Chris tried to grab the tree and haul it outside, but the lights to the tree were still plugged in and that yanked Chris off his feet with the burning tree literally on top of him. Since he was holding the tree in front of him, it fell on him burning his face.

He recovered his footing but was obviously disoriented. He managed to get the tree outside and immediately went back in. He started grabbing anything that was on fire, like couch cushions, but quickly realized the house itself was on fire and he needed to instead make sure all the people were out instead.

He knew his wife, Candi, was in back so he alerted her. One of his friends was in the shower so he went back in and notified them. The house was lost but all the people got out and Chris was the only one seriously injured. Due to adrenaline and being generally disoriented, it did take Chris around 5 hours to seek treatment.

Chris has been in the hospital all week and underwent skin grafts today at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center.

His hair is fine and the ponytail is intact. It does sound like Chris will have a long recovery period and even have to stay out of direct sunlight for a year.

Please feel free to text or message Chris if you know him, but don't be surprised if he isn't responding. Phil does ask that people not visit yet at least without letting him know first and not to be upset if they are asked to hold off for now. Chris can not have flowers so please don't send any.

Phil is planning on doing a charity paintball event on 24th of February to help raise more money.

You can donate to his Go Fund Me here: https://www.gofundme.com/50hne6g

This is a photo of the house after flames engulfed it.

Gifting payment to Clasoya@hotmail.com is the best method, though if someone sends a normal payment, it won't be held against them. Chris is going to have Bacci and I in on a google Doc he has that is keeping track of all payments received. We'll put the name into a randomizer and pick winners on our livestream in a month. We will most likely post a list of all entries received a week prior to the stream, so that people can make sure their entries are listed.

Thanks! I like those go fund me things, but I prefer my money going straight to the person(s) who need it.

I don't mean to get off topic, this is fantastic, but did the raffle that's been alluded to end up being a success? I blocked the jerk off after all of the chaos.

Believe it's still going. Joined the SP group and saw it, and had to leave.

That's alright, a few of us were banned from it. (It's his group). He was banned from the Shocker Owners group. Impulse let him stay. Again, I won't get off topic, this is pretty awesome of you and I'd share if in some of the groups, but it doesn't really fit in anywhere that I frequent.

Good job!
