I like the idea of both - but personally leaning towards DAM'd simply because there are inserts that allow you to run tipx/zeta mags in a DAM well but nothing for the other way round.

Helix mags might have been my first choice, but these magazines are impossible to use in this build because they load from the front and would leave no room for the trigger. If Helix mags fed from the back like DAM mags, then itd be a no-brainer.

Ah, good point. I hadn't even considered that you were loading from the back stack. There goes that idea. Thanks for saving me the trouble.

I only know of Nova Tactical’s DZI adapter, but with that, you need to have 3 balls preloaded every time you load a mag. Not exactly ideal. Are there any other DAM to TiPX inserts that you are aware of?

Edit: It looks like the DZI retain the 3 preloaded balls so that you only need to preload once (as opposed to every time you insert a mag into the gun), but regardless, they appear to be unavailable for purchase any longer.

Stark Pursuit made one as well at one point, adapter page is here:

I like DAM magazines better, to be honest. For the looks and also because they have that big loader-like magazine that holds 200 balls. I think it gives the user more flexibility.

I’ve seen those, too. They look like they’d be a good magwell choice (would still have to mill away the body and barrel adapter to make room for the TiPX mag), but they’ve been unavailable for a while now.

I can't tell you how exciting it is to hear about the possibility of someday buying a new magfed Automag!

Testing is officially complete. I’ve confirmed that this marker works perfectly well in any configuration of the following AGD parts:
- classic A.I.R. valves
- ReTro valves and X-valves
- Level 7 bolts
- Level 10 bolts
- classic on/off assemblies
- RT on/off assemblies
- ULT on/off assemblies

I’ll be shooting an email over to Airgun Designs a little later today to see what David Zupan thinks. Also, I plan to start a new thread sometime later this week where I will begin accepting orders to modify Automags. First come first serve. I’ll post a link to the thread here once it’s up.
