This year is going to be amazing for mech players and new players.

We have several nice mechs being now released and I myself am quite excited by what is happening. Already have the Gmek myself but that Emek may find its way into my hands now that they are available.

Planet Eclipse Emek - $219

Planet Eclipse Gmek - $130 frame kit and Gtek + Gmek frame $600
Released

SP Shocker CVO - Frame kit $200, full marker $800

Shocktech Gunfighter frame - $230

As soon as I have the option to preorder the RSX mech frame I am getting one.

I'm interested in the Emek as a possible rental. Hopefully it's more trouble free than the GOG eNMey.

I think the Emek may be a better choice as a rental over the Gtek. Less stuff for the inexperienced to mess with (ie clamping feed, quick strip bolt, on/off asa) and the polymer body and frame may be more forgiving aesthetically.

Hmm.
Both of these seem bulkier than the eNMEy, which positions the feedneck directly over the trigger guard.
Is the trend these days to make guns slightly longer than they need to be?

Can someone explain to me what is entailed in turning my current rsx into a mech? Obviously, I'd buy the frame.... But what else?

Nobody really knows for sure yet, but I imagine if they're smart it'll be a bolt on frame that just works.

No idea, but I do find the longer setups like the Gmek to be more comfortable to hold over the eNMEy. Also, maybe itís from a long history using the 98C, I find having the hopper right up in my face a lil annoying.

This has been the trend for a long time starting with the original Lux. I personally like the long grip spacing.
