Just Scored an Eyeball Shell Revvy

Just found an old eyeball shelled Revvy in my local junk video game shop. Looks solid, no cracks. And bought on the cheap. Now I hope she works with new batteries. I guess we’ll see when I get home. Man, does it feel indestructible!

My thoughts exactly. Both my revvys started life as 9v revys. So they are old.

They're about the same. Lots of guys like the newer, faster Revvys, but lots of other guys just need something a little faster than gravity, and they like using one battery instead of two.

The shells used to be somewhat desirable, since they didn't fall apart like the Brass Eagle era stuff, but that got fixed with later generations and doesn't seem to be an issue with the JT version. The later internals also aren't compatible with the early shells, apparently... I haven't tried it, but there have been reports of people attempting to swap and things not quite fitting right.

The JT version is good enough for a pump, but I've been able to outshoot mine quite easily on a Blazer - they're slower than an X-board Revvy, in my experience.

The next-gen hoppers like the Rotor and Spire are where it's at, really... I like my Revvy but it doesn't get used much unless I'm shooting my Sniper 3.

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them.”
