That's probably fine on my end. I'll check with the wife tonight, and have confirmation this evening.

Sounds good man, let me know and we can start hammering out details. My only request is not the Sunday (8/26) because I have to get back to RI for work on the following Monday, if that's a deal killer let me know and I'll try to switch some stuff around.

Did you guys change your plans or all die in a car crash? I waited at the field for you Friday night and Sat. night at the new camping facility we built for you. No show, no call, no contact? Had to set up a new account on MCB so I could get in touch, nameless had been relaying info for me.

"Going to talk to the wife about this, but how do you guys feel about maybe doing a Meetup? I'll be coming from South Carolina, but I'm definitely down to go...if for no other reason than to show this man that the community still cares. Any interest? "

I even recruited a few locals that are fun to play ball with to jump in. But you never showed. ???????????

Damn, really sorry to hear it turned out to not turn out. I was looking forward to some pics and living vicariously through them. In truth, and not to rub salt...but I am sure glad to have found out this way than to have added the cost of the hotel and rental car to the airplane tickets just to stand around.

Dutch,

I'm sorry man. I posted in the other thread too. My cousins who were visiting originally seemed very enthusiastic about playing. Saturday night everyone (+4) went full lukewarm and said they wanted to go hiking instead. After posting in the other thread multiple times and not hearing anything I became worried that I wouldn't have anyone to play with. I tried calling, but AT&T cell service is garbage in Beaver Cove and I couldn't get a call through.

It's sh*tty and no excuses do it justice :/

Well after months of trying to contact active players in Maine. I've concluded there either aren't many, Aren't many on M.C. Brown or they are just anti social and don't want to talk. I think my tally was 2, both of which play about once a year. Not really that active. But thanks for the try.

Yeah, it's had a ripple effect on my few regular players I had left. They were obviously more excited about this then the M.C.B. boys were. I've approached a dozen of them to try to form an aggressor team to help the field put on special events for group play. We have developed many formats over the years that pit a small number of excellent players against a large gaggle of less experienced ones. These tend to be great fun for both sides. But without my regulars I can't do it. Most of them are pretty well convinced paintball is dead. A few have decided to sell off their gear.

Folks don't realize little things can have large effects. These guys were how I hoped to be able to help make a higher quality of play. That options gone. If I can rebuild it, it will take several seasons.

I have to admit, I'm pretty feed up with it all right now. But the season is almost over and If I can bank up enough money to live through the winter we'll try it again next season.
