Definitely shrouds. Particularly the business end, because in the 90s I couldn't afford one myself.

Right feed, (brass)pneumatics shroud, splash anodized, first gen revvie, either a maxflow/Armageddon/ nitroduck regulator. Can’t forget the matching splash anno barrel!!

Agree with what others have said. Also, stainless barrels, Air America regs, low pressure chambers, and oval slotted trigger plates get you there as well. Here's my "old school" Bob Long marker (with a few moden appointments) that I've been working on the past few years:
