Berets in Paintball?

What are everyone's opinions of wearing berets (or other military headdresses) and cap badges/brasses for paintball?
I personally don't like it, as I feel it is something to be earned, and is disrespectful to those who did earn it.
I suppose if you're a vet or active service in a unit that had these pieces of kit it would be ok, but that's just me.

I am a Army vet and earned my Beret with the Rangers.
It pisses me off to see other people wearing them, BUT only if they are doing it as stolen valor.
If someone shows up at my home field wearing a beret, whatever. I'll enjoy trying to hit it specifically. [emoji38]

A tall bearskin like the Queen's guard wear would be really cool.
Of course it would stick out past bunkers a lot.
But it'd still be cool.

This is a really random question!

I would never wear a current issue beret/badge of a us military unit, because I've never served in the military. However, as a history guy, I always thought the camo berets that were worn by some members of elite units in Vietnam looked cool. In some pics of 80's era paintball you'll see guys wearing camo berets too. I wouldn't care about wearing a foreign unit beret as a prop or costume at a scenario game. Like a bright blue russian paratrooper beret for a Cold War themed game. In general though, it just screams "Red Dawn" wannabee too much for my fashion sense! Who do you know who actually wears one to the field?

I have a friend who is a big Ukraine arms guy and has ALOT of old berets. I think they are from Ukraine but they are definitely not standard.

As Wade said, its a hat. He is biased though... I saw him wear a buccaneer outfit to a paintball game, and he has never been a pirate. He didn't earn it. I know so many pirates who would be offended if they saw that.

You've also seen him in a dress. So, yeah.
