Haters gonna hate...

So...
Sigh.
I am of course interested in new developments.
I of course follow the latest and greatest.

(As I decide whether or not to have my P68SC nickel plated while it's at PPS.)

And, I see a few people throwing fits over a certain, new to the market gun.

It aint exactly new.

It's just made of aluminum now.

Alright.

I'm gonna say it out loud.

The 170R is an aluminum Etha II.

That is not to knock the idea.

And I think the price is on point.

I believe, it is a great electro.
(Wrong crowd.)

But PE fans are worried about their "investent" in the CS2.

Ahem.

PAINTBALL IS NOT AN INVESTMENT!

It's a really fun game.
If you buy a 1600 dollar gun,
That's great.

If you thought you were buying an advantage?

Guys playing stock class love to shoot you.
Seriously. Makes their day.
(Week, month, whatever.)

Polished brass is always better

I'm surprised that Eclipse moved back to aluminum since they seemed to be headed to composites for most of their guns.

I've never thought of paintball as an "investment" which would yield money returns. It's an experience that lasts oh to little time when you hit the field and a maker of memories we can think about when we grow old and wish to remember something glorious about our youth.

Most of their guns?

You mean the lower end ones

I’ve got a CS2. Just because the 170r is a great shooter doesn’t mean my CS2 is any less great than when I first got it.

Absolutely agree.

The cs2 is a phenomenal marker.

I guess, people are hot under the collar over a mid range gun that, performs very well.

And let's really look at it.

Everything Planet Eclipse has turned out since autocockers has been top notch.

I think CS owners are looking for a belly rub.

i NEVER thoguht of it as an aluminum etha 2, but damn, thats exactly what it is.
that said, i am a little miffed about basically every online retailer no longer showing plain Gtek's on their site since the 170 release.

so that's
etha 2, 1
gtek, 2
160r, 3
170r, 4, guns running the same bolt system....

definitely doing something right, but at somepoint one has to ask wether they need every bell and whistle. i'll give it up for a good OLED board, very worth while whistle. blinky lights are sufficient, but at a tourney, words on a screen are king

After getting an enmey, emek and etha 2 I'm sold on plastic guns. They feel solid and are stupid light.

That being said I love my brass and old angel and shoebox shocker
