Where to buy small co2 tanks now?

Hey, I have a couple quirky little 'fun gun' projects I'm working on, and wanted to use 3.5oz - 6oz co2 tanks for them. Currently, where is a good place to get new small co2 tanks? Thanks!

Is the output pressure and valve up to paintball specs?

It's unregulated co2, output pressure won't be a issue

Different valves can have different threads though so that is worth checking out

I've seen some pre-filled beverage 3oz and 4oz ones on amazon as well. They are prefilled so I assume they'd have to be DOT certified to be shipped in that method. They also need their valve replaced

I have two of the 3.5/4oz ones from Soda Mod or whoever it is. They shipped from a paintball shop so clearly they moved from PB to soda.

The only other small tank I could find in the last few months was aimed at livestock gun use and it had a manual valve on it so that moved up the price and also makes the tank longer so I passed.

I thought about buying some of the Cuisinart ones and re-valving them but then I’d probably have to fill them myself.

So you didn't have to re-valve them or anything?

No. The Sodamod tanks are a direct fit on any paintball gun with the usual Tippman style ASA. The Cuisinart ones do have a proprietary valve.

As I understand it, people who like to make undrinkable soda and beer at home use Dicks Sporting Goods more for CO2 than paintballers do now. The soda industry of course invented at least two different proprietary valves in an attempt to control their customers but people just buy adaptors and use paintball tanks.

The tanks from Sodamod do have cert dates on them and they are not exempt. I don’t know what’s stamped on the Cuisinart ones.

The way things are going now I’m going to have to fill all my own tanks pretty soon anyway so I’m not sure if I really care about dates.
