Custom 3d Printing/Design assistance Services

For those of you who don't know me, I am a college student studying ME at Virginia Tech. I have recently purchased a 3d printer for my own use while here at college, and after thinking about it during the down time I can open it up for others.

I can also help with some design assistance, I have done some 3d modeling, and if I can't figure it out, I have a friend who is about 10x as good as me I can bring on.

Price for printing depends on the size/volume of the model. Obviously the larger the part, the more material I have to use to make it. Some parts I may also have to turn down due to size or other constraints (large thin parts take different/more expensive material to print and prevent warping. As for design help, if it is a part I am printing for you and not too much work, I am happy to help in most cases, past that it will again depend on the time spent.

You can see some of what I do at my website: Abrahamshipley.com (Before you laugh, I started this as an E-portfolio for when I graduate and it has progressed from there). It is still under development, so take the quality of it with a grain of salt.

I can currently only print in ABS (also a material called Z-UltraT, this is for the larger parts). Colors I have on hand are black, white, blue, gray, and orange.

My main printer, with custom enclosure panels:

And another I have on the way:

Some parts I have done:

Looks like you can do pretty good resolution on those parts

Flounder, that is why I chose this printer! I have not found another FDM printer that is able to replicate the quality that I see with the Zortrax, I guess I am lucky to have found out about it.

Totally awesome. Can see so many uses for one of these for custom parts.

Ooooo. OOOOOOOOOO. The mind, she whirls...

Now I just need time, and the ability to model something in a 3d program other than Maya, lol.

I wanted to show a picture of what laxpro modeled and printed for me. I asked him for a 10rnd tube holder that was round and would hold 7 tubes. I measured a tube for him so he had the size and he quickly showed me a model. They came out better than I was expecting.

Just got my mcb Christmas ornament! Very communicative, helped me out with any questions I had. Here it is, hanging off a brass hook, appropriately enough.
