Eclipse Geo 2 Info...

I'm thinking about picking up an electro to have for the occasional game when I'm not using my mech or pump. I have the opportunity to pick up a Vicious edition Geo 2 for $200 CDN, the only issue is I know nothing of these markers. What are they like for reliability? Efficiency? What ever information anyone can offer would be great, thanks.

Lol asking if an eclipse gun is reliable is like asking if a Tippmann is reliable.

I'm not sure what the value of a group 2 is these days, nor do I know what the transfer rate is like between USD and CAS right now, but that seems like a good price. Personally I'm a huge fan of the geo line, I would recommend it over just about anything on the market. Efficiency isn't stellar but it's not horrible either. They shoot good, and are one of the most reliable spools ever made. What's not to like?

Thanks for the reply. That's the kind of information I was looking for. Like I said before I have zero experience with these markers, I don't think I've even held one.

$200 is a good deal. They still go for around $300USD commonly. There isn't a whole lot that goes wrong with them other than orings and occasionally detents wear out. Everything else magmoor is on par with my thoughts.

Is there much benefit to installing the Geo IV core kit?

Where I cannot comment specifically on the Geo 2, I have had a 1 and a 3 and have a 3.5. I installed the Core IV in the 3 and it made a HUGE difference in efficiency, like much better than advertised or projected.

I think it's a great price for a team marker.

Thanks for all the info folks, I'm going to see if I can work the deal out for tonight. I'll post some photos if I get it.

One thing I will say in relation to it.

I would check the reg seat before airing it up. Make sure it and the ring on the piston/seat assy are good. As you may be aware there is no LPR to save your noid if that goes bad, and given it's age I wouldn't trust it.
I am not sure that Eclipse still has this part in stock...everything up to the Ego 8 and the like are gone, or nearly so. I would count on adding an aftermarket HPR to it for safe shooting.

the geo 2 had no lpr? and why would he have to replace the hpr, never heard they were bad.

No LPR needed, they run at such a low pressure the HPR drops it far enough for noids to be fine. And you don't need to change out the reg. Infact you can't as they are a proprietary thread at the top. Not that you would need to as the factory reg is about as good as anything you can get.
