Aggro-mod: Magnetic trigger mod for 160R & 170R
Iíve had my 170R for a week now, so it was due to go under the knife.
Iím not a big fan of spring returned triggers so I wanted to find a way to add a magnet.
Attempt at your own risk, I take no responsibility for any damage you may cause to your trigger/marker by doing this mod.
1.) Start by removing the full trigger assembly from the frame.
2.) Remove the forward most screw in the trigger, this controls pre-travel. Since I like my trigger as far forward as possible losing this adjustment wasnít a big deal.
3.) Drill a 1/8Ē dia. hole from the top where you removed the screw. For a clean appearance make sure you donít drill all the way through the bottom side.
4.) Add a 1/8Ē dia. magnet to the hole you drilled. I epoxied mine in the flush with the top of the trigger. Youíll have to play around with this a bit. But somewhere between flush and a 1/16Ē recess should be perfect for most people.
5.) Allow epoxy to cure, then reassemble your marker.
6.) Fine tune your trigger to make use of the new magnet.
I am very happy with my personal results. I ended up with a significantly lighter, yet snappier pull that is much easier to walk.
I hope you guys find this mod/walk through helpful.
