MG100 to Dye Box Rotor compatibility solved! (with a little modification)

So I just got my MG100 today and within about 20 minutes, I've solved the Dye Box Rotor compatibility problem that nobody had! I think I'm the only one trying to repurpose all my old DAM stuff...

As you can see, they seem quite happy together!

And here's the simple little modification you need to do in order for these two to play nice with each other.

Cut a D shaped hole where the mag release will neatly fit:

And then find a Dye Rotor or LT-R motor assembly, get rid of that pesky old Box Rotor version and fit it in it's proper place!

Once complete, its actually easier to attach or detach the Box Rotor from the MG100 than it ever was from the DAM as the 100 uses a forward moving button as opposed to the side buttons.

Images didn't load for me, so I fixed.

A lot of people have tried this, and the prototype users have been through this a few times. We know how to "solve" the compatibility problem, we know you can use a rotor engine.

The problem is trying to get it to 1) reliably feed 2) keep pressure on the stack so you don't chop a ball.

How about using a higher torque RC motor with rotor internals like some of the warpless mag guys have been trying?

The problem is ensuring the stack (the motor assembley) doesn't "back off" when it is sitting idle and you are running around. One of the guys said it isn't reliable feeding either.

Figure out a back to hack something like a torque loader control in there (or similar function) and you will probably be ok. Extremely expensive for a loader that isn't Bluetooth though.

If Brent see this thread he will be able to be more specific though.

I'm going to get to this hopefully soon! Its been 99 degrees here in the Northeast and we're not really used to it up here! Feet of snow, sure, but heat and humidity? We melt!
