Emek Trigger Job

While the trigger on the Emek isn't exactly stiff, it could be a bit lighter if you really want to be. You can either remove the trigger spring entirely to where the trigger flops around like on an Automag or you can install a lighter spring. I chose to do the latter using a ballpoint pen spring.

When choosing the right spring to use, ballpoint pens use springs with varying strengths. The best option is to use one with loosely packed coils rather than the more densely packed springs.

I used my stock spring as a guide for length then used a pair of snips to cut the pen spring. After reassembling the gun with the new spring installed, I noticed a significant difference in the trigger pull to where it feels almost like an electro. For what amounts to a free mod, this really gives the Emek a totally different feel. It also gets rid of the trigger squeak that was annoying me before.

I have bought boxes of mechanical pencil at the store for the sole purpose of pulling the springs out

I saw that too. $10 for a spring is insane when most people have pens all over the house.

Yeah. Then again, people paying good money for upgrades of questionable performance improvements is nothing new in paintball.
