eBay removing listings

Have you ever had Ebay remove a paintball listing because it was violating the firearms policy?
When I called, they didn't know the difference between paintball and firearms.

Your eBay listing has been removed: Firearms Parts and Accessories

My shocker SFT frame was

Hello,
Some of your listings haven’t followed our Firearms Parts and Accessories policy. In this email, we're including some policy information to help you with your future listings. We also had to take the following actions:
- Listings that didn't follow eBay guidelines have been removed. A list of removed item(s) is available further down in this email.
- We have credited all associated fees except for the final value fee for your listing(s).

Due to laws and regulations, the sale of most firearms, weapons, and related items isn't allowed.

Items that can't be sold on eBay include:
- Kits for building firearms
- Parts or accessories that allow guns to fire, including receivers and frames
- Magazines that accept more than 10 rounds, typically referred to as "high-capacity" magazines
- Parts designed to convert a non-functioning firearm into a functioning firearm
- Silencers
- Blueprints for milling or forging of weapon

Magazines with a capacity of 10 rounds or fewer may be sold. However, the capacity must be stated in the item description, or be clearly visible in the accompanying images. Listings and products with contradicting information will be removed.

Certain types of weapons and related items may be sold. However, sellers must follow our guidelines, as well as meet the following requirements:
- The item must be sold only on the eBay U.S. web site.
- The item, seller, and buyer are located within the U.S.
- You offer only domestic shipping and is shipped only within the U.S.

To learn more about our firearms and weapons policy and guidelines, go to:
https://pages.ebay.com/help/policies...ns-knives.html

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with this information and be sure that your current and future listings, including any items that are relisted automatically, follow these guidelines. If they don’t, they'll be removed and your fees may not be refunded. It could also result in additional actions, including loss of buying and selling privileges on eBay.

If you have any questions, contact our policy experts:

Here's a list of the item(s) that were removed:
Shocker SFT CCM Frame -Dust Black - agd automag autococker

We appreciate your understanding.

Thanks,

eBay

Yes. I had a listing for a frame removed today and received the same message you did. I chalked it up to someone reporting my post and just scheduled the listing to go live again in a couple weeks; however, I wonder if the fact that your listing and mine were both for frames indicates that something else is amiss.

I've had listings removed in the past and listed and sold the items later. Whether it is bots flagging the listings or other users, waiting a little bit and then relisting with slightly different title seems to be a safe course of action.

Automag might also be causing it as there is the .44 automag pistol.

This seems to happen to me around this time every year when they update their lists of banned terms and keywords. I just post it up again and put "paintball" in the title and description, and make sure it is in the paintball section.

In extreme cases I put the following in the description:

This item is made to only be used for the sport of paintball. In no way can it be altered, modified or adapted to work on on anything other than a paintball marker.

They got called out on their policy of not allowing "assault rifle" parts due to the fact that there were THOUSANDS of parts listed.
Now they're in "Oh $h!+!" mode and jumping at shadows.

I got a message a few months back trying to sell some magazines. Pretty sure its automated not an employee, mine got kicked back 2-3 times almost instantly. Just play around with the phrasing till it goes through.

Not sure about that. I mean, I'm sure they have some automated tool that helps, but when I worked for them they had an entire department of real people dedicated to reviewing and identifying restricted items.
