Invert Mini Woes

My mini was my very first electro, and while it shoots ropes it can't do it very -long-.

I've got a pinokio hopper with the extended nose, and a 48/3000 tank I can not shoot off 3/4 of the hopper before the marker airs out. It is -incredibly- inefficient. I can get close to 600 shots on my A-5 with one of those, but I can't get 400 on my mini... And the mini is supposed to stomp the A-5.

I've got a guy on my team that can do my entire pinokio and a pod before he has to air up...

I've tuned the dwell, tinkered with all the settings, and otherwise come up SOL on whats the problem... Any ideas?

the mini itself is notorious for being a gas hog. Even after tuning, its still difficult to get decent efficiancy from it. My reccomendation would be to invest in a tank. Its initial cost is high yes, but it pays for itself many times over, especially if bought new. Check out Ninja, Pure Energy, and others, then decide on the size. No matter what size (cubic inchwise) you get, make sure you get a 4500 psi tank. You will increase your shot count by quite a bit.

I have a 92/4500, 1 72/4000, 3 68/4500, and 4 48/3000.

I also own two Scuba tanks and a fill station.

The reason for my complaining is I find it ridiculous that my 92/4500 (filled to 3000) can't even get a hopper and 4 pods off the Mini.... but My A-5 can do a hopper and 8 pods.

I didn't realize it was considered an inefficient marker.

EDIT- In my Province (Canada) there is not a single place that fills to 4500.

ouch, thats rough. Yea, Minis are notorious for that unfortunatly. They are very progressive in how they are deesigned, but the flaw was that they lost efficiancy.
What generation is your mini?

I get amazing efficency from the three minis I have owned.

Look and see if the board you have in yours is the "Optimus 1.1"...if so get another board. Those had several issues that caused a number of problems including bad efficency. Another thing to check would be to see what revision of poppit you have.
You might need to play with the pressure and dwell to get the best from it. I always left the dwell stock, run the pressure about 180, and adjust with the back cap.

Another thing, make sure you have the spring on correctly. If it is put on backwards it can cause too much drag, and cost you air there as well.

I have the 2nd Generation Mini, with an APE Rampage board...

I spent a week, a case of paint, and countless air fills 'tuning' the thing, and what it is at now is the best I can get. Before, I could literally watch my 48/3000 tank drop on a shot-by-shot basis. I've got no clue what is wrong with my mini....

I assume you have done these things?

My Mini Has Poor Efficiency

Make sure your mini is properly broken in

You can break in your mini by dry firing a tank or two to properly break in the spring.

Check for leaks

Air up your mini and remember how much air you have in the tank. Now let it sit for a few hours. If you have any less air in the tank, then you have a leak. Figure out where the leak is coming from and then refer to the My Mini Leaks section.

Check your orings

Check all of the orings on the bolt guide, poppit, and bolt for visual damage. Replace any damaged orings. Lightly lube all of the orings and reassemble your mini

My Mini is great on Air! I can start with a full 68\45 and only have to fill up once to finish off a case of paint.
