Mech Omen?

Just wondering if anyone ever tried it and if so what frames did you use and how did you like it?

Never tried it, but I have thought about it a few times. Should be simple, assuming that one can find or make a frame to fit.

Sub'd. I have an Omen sitting in the bottom of my non-Mag/Model 98 paintball box (the only non-inline marker in my possession). The unique cam feed is what fascinated me about it. My thought was to always find a way convert it to pneumatic operation. Making it a Pnomen?

Really does look like it would be as simple as finding a cocker or spyder frame that you liked and slapping it on. I'm not sure which one the holes would line up for though.

Get a mech piranha/spyder/azodin frame, check the hole spacing and drill new ones as required. Id put my money on piranhas fitting out of the gate as they were similar and both pmi products. The others make metric stuff so who knows.

The hole spacing is different on just about everything I've tried to far. The Omen seems to have a unique spacing pattern, but I'm still searching and trying to find a frame the will adapt well.

The toughest part has been sear height. The Omen needs a sear that sticks up further.

Frame from a ACI F4. It is flat top like the one frame and has enough sear height that you need to shim it a little to get it to work.

If you can match the frame and sear to the body and internals, yeah, you can mech it.

Always wanted to, never did.

Thanks guys. I have moved on and no longer have the gun but hopefully the answers can be helpful for the next person trying it.

Maybe try using original sear in mech frame? Otherwise it might require a machinist.
