Mech Omen using 'cocker pneumatics?

So I am staring at the Evil Omen animation, studying its habits.

It's essentially a blowback Autococker, right?

You can run the bolt and backblock and the outer hammer sleeve via a pneumatic ram, leaving the hammer to be mechanically released... obviously requiring the same precision timing as an Autococker.

Ran in this way, would an Autococker frame work? Presuming that the sear reaches the hammer and you can physically get it to bolt to the body...

It would be sweet to have a single trigger slide frame pneumatic Omen... pretty much an Autococker with the Omen ratchet feeding system.

Well of course it would work...it would just be a spyder body autococker at that point. Kind of defeats the purpose of the gun though, you'd be better off just building an autococker instead of butchering an Omen into one.

I'd say it's more accurately described as a closed bolt Spyder/STBB.

To make a mech Omen all you need is an unbalanced sear trigger frame, like on a Spyder or similar. Someone on the forum made one using an ACI F4 Illustrator frame.

It could be done using cocker style pneumatics, as long as you disabled the blowback port on the valve. However, then you lose part of what makes the Omen unique/quirky.

The ACI F4 frame is not compatible from what I have seen... I have an Omen and I have an F4 frame.

Regardless of the grip frame screw holes being "close", and the top being flat, the sear is not is the right spot.

In order to position the sear in the correct spot, the front grip frame screw hole is exactly where the trigger return spring is... you have the exact amount of space required to drill a new rear frame screw hole to match the existing rear hole in the Omen body.

I heard the F4 frame was the place to start, but I haven't seen a completed mech Omen, yet...

I had always thought a mech piranha frame would be the best place to start, has anyone measured any of those?

User dano_____ claims to have gotten an Omen working with an F4 frame using washers as spacers. I seem to recall pictures of it, but I can seem to find them.

Omens aren't really based on them.... They ate kinda their own animal.

I disagree! There’s never a reason to not be unique!

Do eet!
