You could try more calorie dense foods? Such as 80/20 beef etc. I'm not in the same boat as you I'm trying to gain without getting fat since I don't keep pounds off the way you naturally lean guys do. So I'm not sure. But from what I've read food timing as a lot to do with it too. Like you Peri workout nutrition. PWO carbs. Post work out carbs. Carbs and Bcaa during your workout etc. take your casein or other slow digesting proteins before bed etc. like cottage cheese. Things like that.

You can also eat foods known to help boost testosterone levels if you have trouble gaining fat and muscle. Broccoli, coconut oil, olive, oil, oysters(or zinc supplement), garlic, whole milk. Fun fact, eat garlic everyday and your voice becomes deeper.

Squats and dead lifts also increase testosterone levels. Learn how to do kegels for men.

As for BCAA's, they're relatively expensive compared to protein powder. Your body burns fat and protein(amino's) when you work out and through out the day. So I feel like if you take BCAA's during a workout you're just pouring money down the drain.

Some people mix their BCAA's into a gallon of water and drink that throughout the day or right before bed. If you really want to take them during a workout make sure you also have carbs with it IE mix it into juice.

I'll look into different foods and more calorie dense meals. I never thought to do slow proteins before bed, should have thought of that because of the slowed digestion during sleep. Good thinking and thanks for the tips

Have you ever heard of the GOMAD diet? It worked for me when nothing else would. It's not for the timid, though.
