Deadlifts at 2pm central. Gotta get my 400#!

Update! Got my 405#! Not bad for 2 months of training!

Congratulations! I did Powerlifting in high school and I was on the tall end at 5'7" for my weight class. Keep it up and don't get discouraged when you plateau (It will happen eventually).

Damn you! I've been chasing 405 for 3 years and still can't hit it.
You've been at it for 2 months!

Good job!
What type of programming are you following?

The weird part is I pull conventional. And thanks!

I think it's a program that my coaches put together. It's built around an 8 week cycle, with an "as many reps as possible" test on week 4 and PR's on week eight, with tapers the week before each. It's also a "squat-bench-deadlift-every-damn-session" routine, and a MWF program with moderate weight and volume on day 1, volume on day 2, and weight on day 3. Gotta make sure you eat a boatload to keep from overtraining...

Since we didn't do squats at the meet, we maxed out on Friday. I got a 350# squat! I'm really excited about how this has been going.

Checked my current maxes yesterday +/- 10% since I was using a smith machine

Bench: 225#
@Prime: 255#

Squat: 275#
@Prime: 355#

Deadlift: 335#
@Prime: 395#

I'm surprised my bench has degraded the least, since I haven't touched any chest workouts since I quit Lifetime Fitness.
My baby hands are still holding me back for deadlifts. I will probably pick up some straps after New Years.

I feel empowered and greedy. Let's see where these newbie gains take me. I want a 4 plate squat by a meet in March. Now THAT'S optimistic, but dangit this whole situation has been weird.

As far as my weak bench goes, I'm sure it's in my triceps. I've never used them for anything ever in my life it seems.

Edit: YBBPI, have you lifted hook grip?

The smith machine I have access to has an unusually thick bar. Thicker than the thickest bars I've played with before.
Probably because it's designed not to flex, so the it won't have trouble sliding up and down.

IIRC Your muscles get stronger faster than your joints do.
Look into powerlifting shoes, knee sleeves, glucosamine & msm chondroitin to protect your knees.
Make sure you're form is always good.
