Using hand tools instead of machines helps when possible. Iíve been shoveling all winter instead of snow blowing, and chopping with an axe instead of a splitter. Itís been great to break a sweat, keep up some strength, and actually be tired enough to fall asleep on my back at night

Might I suggest we tackle the new year with a new eating disorder?

Added another four miles to the count.
So when you guys go on a trip with your woman/significant other, how do you keep your routine?

That can be tricky. Depending on where we go I'll try to work in hiking or walking versus taking the car, or bring a pair of running shoes, but sometimes you just have to enjoy yourself and hit the ground running when you get back.

I try to take walks, use the stairs instead of an elevator, etc. If the hotel has a gym or there's one near by I try to get some light workout in or if it's warm swimming is perfect. There's also nothing wrong with taking a rest, your body needs it. It will also help reduce the risk of exercise related injuries.
