For those interested here is the 81 Mercedes finished,

I don't think it's too bad for a low mileage car mostly needing minor work, paint and removal of the previous owners stereo mods to the interior, plus it sports Mercedes armageddon proof om617 turbo diesel. I have less than $4,000 total into what will be a daily driven car with a life span greater than mine given proper maintenance.

I wonder how much power the sticker adds?

At 300K I think most OM617's are still considered low millage. The one in my 4Runner had 217 when I pulled it. No blowby.

People are trying to make their cars faster. I'm over here trying to slow mine down.

I had been considering this, but screwed myself by selling my 17in oem wheels and installing 15s instead. No room for larger rotors.

These don't clear my stock wheels without a 10mm spacer. My track wheels clear them though. I had to upgrade, I was only getting 3-4 days out on track out of a set of pads in the front. At 200-225 a set of pads I should break even after about 12-15 track days.
