So my questions.
1. Low rpm can’t get it past 4.5k
2. Weird exhaust sounds
3. Low speed

Any ideas

One of my best friends owns this amazing little piece:

I've bombed around in it a few times, and while the RHD is unsettling at first, I can't believe the grip it has. To be fair he's running 245s and heavily modded suspension, but it's a 90whp beast.

Don't LS swap it, man. Takes the charm out of the original Miata.

I wish I were short enough to own/drive one. I have that big dog, little bed thing and just adore small cars. I have liked the Miata since they came out. Buddies mom had one years ago and I had to put the top down and look over the windshield.
I almost purchased one from the garage I was working a few years ago. It had a Jackson Supercharger, suspension was all 'dolled up' with roll bar and frame bars for roll. That thing was so stupid fast and fun to around 80, it was my ideal screw around ride....except...

Clean your throttle body, change every filter, change spark plugs and spark plug wires, change the oil. After that start fault diagnosing. Check for vacuum leaks.

As Jkoselka says above. I had similar problems with my Miata at one point and basically came down to clogged fuel filter, old spark plugs (fouled) and bad plug wires. Miata engines are very simple to work on (with the exception of the damn block bypass cooling hose behind the engine and in front of the firewall) and diagnosed. Give your Miata a good tune up then see what you got.
