My 2001 Jetta did that too. I just fixed the burnt wires and kept on having a warm butt.

Gotta watch out for that!, my 04 TDI has 375k (replacement engine) and I have to do the front end since the CVs are both gone.... Grand Am has almost 300k, 98 Ram van at 260k, but the 93 Geo Metro has only 80k. Anything with 200k is just getting broken in...

My Corolla was in the 300k club when I finally retired it. I'm sorry I did.

2005 Ford Focus ZX5 sitting at 205k miles.

There's plenty falling apart, including a wiring harness that means no rear driver side position lights, a hood latch cable that snapped this last winter in -50 weather, the zip tied down hood due to the hood latch itself which I had to take a reciprocating saw to in order open, (the manual release mechanism spring also broke, so I couldn't screwdriver it open), the shifter manual release that got punched in a moment of frustration while dealing with the above two things, and the AC which probably just needs recharged but may as well not exist.

Motor is strong as an ox, still.

If I was willing to put in the sweat equity to make those repairs above, I'd bet it'll make it at least another 50,000 miles before something mechanical happens rendering it undrivable.

2011 taco with 130k.

Still running strong but I think it’s getting time for a new truck.
