The corona build

Welp bought another bad vehicle. But this time I knew what I was getti into (for the most part

The story
Basically my buddy said he had a motorcycle that has been sitting around for about a year. And asked me if I could get it running. New battery fresh gas oil change simple enough. A week later he said he wants to sell it I asked him how much. He was asking 2500 . Paid him 1k before all the corona stuff started happening. I asked him about taki it to the shop for an inspection to see if we where close in value/price. He agreed. We took it in turns out the shop wants just over 2k to do the tune up. We both laughed at the quote. And decided. I would do the work and pay him whatever is left of the final 1k after parts registration ect.

Parts/work :the necessities: valve adjustment, carb boots ,a few new orings, front break rebuild master and caliper, spark and spark plugs.
Completed list
Striped down to naked
Break master
Front caliper

Agreed upon extras for the total. Carb ultrasonic rebuild and re jet possible exhaust mods.
Total at home repre cost with all the mods I want to do. About $600

So now I need to name it. Itís a 2005 v star 650 classic came with the touring package which I removed because I like the more bobber look these bikes have.

Hopefully some picks for you all enjoy

Vstars aren’t worth all that much to begin with. Just be careful you don’t dump too much money into a ****ing Yamaha.

Good luck, ride safe!

At 1k with 600in parts itís below value by about 1k. 2700 is blue book. Typical listing price around me is closer to 3k average thatís on stock ones with no add ins mine came with
2sets of bags stock and buffalo ,extra lights on front end. Silverado windshield

Welp $200 and about 4 hours of actual work (would have been much les had I known what I was doing. And my bike is alive and roaring. Needs a carb sync and some tires and I will be 100% road worthy

So essentially just saved my self. 1800 today woot woot

the 80s yamaha xj's were cool. 82 xj1100 maxim would be rad as hell, always looking at them online.
