Birthday presents for the girlfriend

so my girlfriend is turning 25 in June and i figure its a big year and i wanted to do something special or buy her something nice. whats a good present to get? she wants a Macbook Pro but idk if that is outrageous to buy a girlfriend. Plus shes doesn't use her current desktop as much as i do. Plus shes done with college so she wont need it for papers and everything else but i didnt know if i should buy her that or maybe a piece of jewelry or possibly a mini vacation somewhere? what do you guys think? any recommendations?

You have to buy a b-day gift THEN you make the proposal / ring offer later. East coast chicks would not allow you to "rob" them like that.

Kinda harsh, don't you think, gainman? In fact, that was very rude in my opinion. Clearly things are serious seeing as they've been together 4 years. If you can't say something nice....

On topic, a mini vacation seems like a good idea to me. Seeing as you're more in the beach setting since you're in Jersey Shore, take her up into the mountains. It's beautiful this time of year.
