I was not stating that the employer would financially cover the employee's insurance cost, but in the case of an accident, etc. If you are using your personal vehicle for company business, you are acting as an agent of the employer/company. This would make them liable for your actions in your vehicle while on their time doing their business. Many companies make you aware of this in the company handbook under policy/procedures. It is a liability issue, and in the case of property damage and recovery of any loss to yourself and others, you as the employee may want to get this cleared up to protect yourself. Believe me the company is going to look after itself, C.Y.O.A. is the rule, not the exception.
