Pretty ****ty Day

So today has really sucked. We found out my grandma (dad's mom) was diagnosed with lung cancer a few weeks ago. It was already stage 4 and the doctors said 3-6 months with no chemo, 6-9 with. Well, Wed she took a turn for the worse and they found she was bleeding from the heart, she had pneumonia, fluid in the lungs and had gone septic. Today I woke up to a text from my father that she passed early this morning. My brothers and I are the youngest on both sides but she was always very giving of herself and because of that, she was always the favorite grandparent. She was also the last one. So yeah, pretty ****ing ****ty day. I'm not dealing with it very well either. I consider a lot of you friends and some even closer and I needed to get that off my chest. Don't feel any better so now it's time for brown liquor.

Sorry for your loss, my condolences go out to you and your family.
Unfortunately "want" and "need" are two very different things...

I know its tough man, but the best thing you can do is to keep reminding yourself that her suffering is over, and at least (from your description) it seems to have been relatively short. She'll always be with you in spirit and memory.

very sorry for your loss.

I will share something with you that I hope can help. My Grandmother was not my biggest fan, she was very old school and felt I was not raised properly. Within the last few years, I have had several dreams where her and I had nice visits, and chats, and caught up. They didn't seem as much like dreams as they did 'visits'. I don't go for that spiritual stuff, but I don't know how else to describe it. I firmly believe your grandmother will continue to watch over you, and you will continue to feel her love.

I am so sorry for your loss.
