so i just found a good phishing e-mail...

so my kids play clash of clans but i freaked when i got an email from apple that someone spent $50 on clash of clans...

i figured it was fake after asking my kids and forwarded it to apple but then got another email from apple about a 399.99 purchase through itunes.

the e-mails looked really good but the "tell" was the address/name of: "hallmark" in the header

forward these emails to: reportfishing@apple.com,

At that point I'm not even mad, I'm impressed.

well the rundown is the person who did it was the CIO and also oversaw the IT dept. They clicked on the links on a thursday afternoon and thought something was funny but logged out and left for the day. on friday they thought their computer was acting weird, and wondered why the bank was leaving them voicemails. they talked to no one about any of this and left for the weekend.

by the time the following tuesday rolled around the bank had finally gotten through to them about all these $1000 to $3000 acha transfers now totaling 6 figures, all from an account that never did any acha transfers before, and the chaos began.

IT was informed the following week. Mind you we had a weekly meeting with this person during this time with no mention of any of this.

so the Feds get involved and its just a mess. the crisis entered the blame storming phase and in the end it was decided that clearly IT had failed so a contractor was hired to "advise" the dept and basically everyone started getting treated like we were the a-holes at fault. Everyone started quitting. I kept my head down and found another job - though I did start giving giant Fcuk yous to that contractor in my then required weekly then daily reports. I'd copy and paste a section of poetry or a novel into the middle of the reports - never got asked about them

that CIO is still employed in the same position there
