I used a wire brush to my truck's bed, then sand or grind the area down to remove the rusty parts. After treating the rust on the bed, I used a rust encapsulator to cover it, as well as truck accessories
(may it be a bed liner or mat
) to keep the surface clean and protected.
Do Not put in a liner or mat if the truck spends its life outdoors. That creatures a moisture barrier between itself and the truck bed and Iíve seen more than a few that are just horror shows under those plastic box liners. For any of you thinking, get a spray in liner. You or the next owner will thank me.
