Any fans of Broadway musicals?

Hello guys, has someone here ever watched these famous shows? I'm looking for some recommendations for my upcoming vacation in New York during December. Which ones you liked the most? And what online services for buying tickets you used? I mean the really safe ones and without big fees if it's possible, considering my usual location I want to buy tickets in advance.

My wife and kid are going to see Hamilton either this weekend or next. I'll have her poke and ask around. She knows a lot of people (she has an office there) in New York that she goes to once in a while.

Anything in particular you want to see?

I'm asking the Mrs right now...

Including off broadway there are about 53 different things playing. Hamilton and book of Mormon are probably at the top of the list. Although I missed both of those last time I was in nyc.
You can always go around and check out the lotterys, that is an event in and of itself, although Hamilton has an online one because when they tried to do the lottery in person they like shut down all of broadway due to the amount of people there.

Wife says:

Book of Mormon is great if you like south park and don't have kids to bring.

She did not like Chicago as much as the movie version

Waitress was fun and light - Girlie - Me: She told me about it, didn't care for the plot myself, but whatever.

She has not seen but has heard nothing but good about the lion king.

Wicked was way too long

...

On a side note eat at Tony's Di Napoli right in times square at 147 West 43rd. Family style serving italian. Said that's her favorite there.

Parents went to see Hello, Dolly! with Bette Midler and David Hyde Pierce recently - they loved it. Bette's last show is sometime in January (just in case you wanted to go).

Is Wicked still running? That was very good.

Seen a bunch. Book of Mormon is on my list to see. Wicked, Les Miserables, Lion King, and Cats were pretty good. Hoghly recommend off broadway Avenue Q if you're okay with raunchy humor and muppets. Not safe for kids.

Les Mis was good but I'm pretty sure it's no longer on Broadway. My daughter is really into Broadway shows and highly recommends Hamilton and Book of Mormon.

Huh, I just checked and it closed September last year. It only feels like earlier this year that I went to go see it...

Fiance and her friend did go see Miss Saigon last month, said it was good.

Wicked was our favorite play by far. I'd go and see it again.

I really liked Book of Mormon but my wife didn't. I think that had a lot to do with I knew what they were making fun of and she didn't.

We just saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was a good show, but I liked the other 2 better.
