If the link/Boston Globe gives you crap about "You're using a browser set to private or incognito mode", temporarily change your browsers user agent to search engine spider one, like googlebot, and then refresh the page.

Needless to say, I've got some on the list.

I had three of these in the house... One is my shop extinguisher... Guess it is time for a replacement :/ Glad Kidde is standing by their products and replacing them

Just checked our 3 extinguishers. All 3 model numbers are listed, but 2 plastic handled ones are outside the date range of the recall. The 3rd is metal handled, not plastic, so isn't affected either. Whew, thanks Carter!

Without knowing what state you are in, it would be hard to say for sure....BUT, as a business you should be having yearly inspections/certification done on your extinguishers for the fire marshal. If it isn't happening, a quick call to his office with an anonymous tip should net a site visit and a gig to put fire under their butts.

Playing around with employees safety like that is a no go.

It's what I do for (part of) a living.

Yeah. They get the other fire extinguishers certified each year. But for some reason they keep forgetting about the one next to the workbench in the IT office - you know, the one where I work with burning hot soldering irons and electricity.

Anyway, hopefully this recall will light a fire under their asses (pun intended) and they'll actually remember to include my office.

Glad you mentioned this. My extinguisher is newer than the date, but I'm talking with my work to see if they know of the recall. Don't want a few hundred kids in potential danger.

I just checked the one in my office and it is part of it as well. Considering my office is basically a 15x15 bunker with no windows and only 1 door it should probably get replaced. Considering our safety officer is a useless POS I went above him to the purchasing officer to get things taken care of.

I got my replacements for my house today. They are having you send the old ones back to them and included a prepaid shipping label.
