That said, overall, i liked it quite a lot... but its far from the best star wars (Empire has a force-grip on that title IMO).

Absolutely agree with this. There's a lot to criticize. While it's not as bad as the prequels, it doesn't really hold a candle to the OT or rogue one.

trying not to post spoilers, difficult to filter... last movie was pretty heavy on rey, I like that the focus shifted and the skywalkers were allowed to bring it this time... hail to the self-saving princess!

Good idea, thanks

I for one LOVED it. Amazing! And the quip-iness was on point in my opinion! It had a good portion of unspoiled serious moments, and then I thought the comic relief was thrown in appropriately. Some of the banter reminded me a lot of what Harrison Ford brought to the original movies. Excellent! Iíll be seeing it again in the theater soon I think (I too was struggling with being pretty dang tired, and I think I missed some details)

While i loved Carrie Fisher in this movie, that scene literally holding my head in my hands and fearing this movie was just going to go full Jar-Jar.

Yeah... not a fan of that scene either. Kinda ridiculous.

I liked it quite a lot, I feel invested in the outcome of the conflict between these characters. A lot will hinge on the resolution in Episode 9 - if that is good, it will enhance the entire trilogy (just as I think this movie enhanced The Force Awakens).

I'm a little disappointed with the Marvel-ization of the films, but I think that's my nostalgia coloring my attitude. This is the 2015-2019 trilogy, and it is appropriate that it reflects the era in which it is being created. I think Blade Runner 2049 really spoiled me in that regard - I thought it was fabulously awesome, but it did not connect at all with a lot of my younger friends. Star Wars movies are for everyone, and I think the creators of the new trilogy realize that these must work for young people.

So did anyone else get these cards at the opening night 'fan event'?

My first thought was 'great, i could use some new trashcan liners'.

So then i kept them in the pack in the hopes they end up being worth millions.
