I'm sorry, I really am. But, see, I read this thread directly after catching up on the "Shenanigans" one, and, well...

Just to be clear: this one isnt about pictures of the mods shaving in the shower?

(Sorry, lurchness, had to do it...)

All right, I really do feel bad now. That wasn't fair to your thread. Is it possible to delete posts? If someone can tell me how I'll delete my previous one.

If you do a planted with shrimp, weekly water changes aren't necessary. Large enough tank and you can do one a month. Shrimp have a small bio-load.

No problem. Could be cool to see where this goes...... Or not. Just remember, I'm the one that was looking for aquarium information on MCB. I knew the risks when I posted.

He has someone who can clean the thread up for him if he wants. It will be ok in the end.

Interesting, I have been neglecting MCB a good bit for the past 6 months, doing research on this very topic.

I too am setting up a planted tank (75gal). Its been about 18 years since my last aquarium, and just got the itch. This is my first planted tank and from what I have found from many "online sources" is for first time planted, go for low light plants, many to choose from(I am starting with some Banana Plants, Anubias nana, Marimo Moss Balls and java fern) and if you tank is not to deep the cheep led brands beamsworks, and Aquaneat work fine on low light plants. Also it is suggested that on this low light set up, CO2 is often not needed, but an air stone can supply some CO2 that is in the ambient air.

My research suggest that home made back drops made from cement and foam affect water ph a lot, need to do massive water changes many times until it stabilizes before adding stock. Also many suggest that they have a very limited life span before they start to come apart.

But this place looks promising, been try to get more long term reviews of the product.

I should have realized that I could have stayed here on MCB and talk aquariums all the while. sorry I strayed.

Thats why I'm trying it out on a small scale first. 10 gallon water changes arent a big deal.
