For those in a neighborhood, how early is too early to mow your lawn?

I'm curious, what time do you guys feel is the considerate time to start using lawn equipment in a neighborhood?

I was literally just thinking about this, as my lawn could do with a mow. Its 10:30 here and the neighborhood is still dead quiet, but I wouldn't feel totally out of place firing up the mower around now.

8:00am is reasonable any day. This is the time when most people start the actual work day. People may not like you doing thus, but it is reasonable.

I went with 10 AM but I prefer cutting mine after 4 or 5 PM. If I start too late in the morning, I end up wrapping up the work around the hottest part of the day. If I do it later in the day, it only gets cooler. Then again I have an acre and a half of grass to mow so it takes me a couple hours to finish it.

Good question. What is the distinction in your mind? Weekend is later?

P.S. I am asking this question on behalf of my neighbor
I have a time that I feel is reasonable, theirs is different.

In my mind weekend is later, I'd like to give everyone around the opportunity for a quiet morning or breakfast. During the week most of the area is out to work.

9am. I expect people to be done sleeping by 8 unless they are lazy bums, but 9 gives them the chance for an hour of peace and quiet to drink coffee, watch the news, whatever before day starts

My neighbor has his lawn cut by a lawn care company and they usually show up to his house at 8am or a little earlier. I don't cut mine that early but I don't think that 8am is unreasonable. I'd say that 7 is to early but I'm good with them coming at 8 and I am usually a late sleeper as I get home from work late at night.

I will snow blow in the winter at 10 or 11 pm when I get home from work.
