I think it's going to be somewhere between awesome and ok. I was super excited for it when Lord & Miller were directing but the disagreements between them and Disney and the choice of Ron Howard to replace them have soured me on it a bit. I think it's going to end up like Rogue One and Ant-Man was for me. Lots of potential toned down by Disney's need to offend nobody along and make very focus grouped films.

I don't particularly care for the DC films, but at least WB is much more willing to let their directors off the leash creatively.

I think it's interesting how much a face can influence our opinion though. This trailer is horribly done, but seeing Harrison Ford's face over Alden Ehrenreich's lines do make it sound more like Han.

I'm expecting terrible, but maybe be surprised. I'm imagining they will try to cram entire life's worth of story arc into one movie, and then introduce new stuff so they can continue the Han series.

I'm still enjoying the Marvel and DC movies, but I'm really wishing that film studios would branch out a little... the stuff Disney is calling Star Wars is getting a little old

Where's this decade's version of "Big Trouble in Little China"?

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them.”

I'll catch it on Netflix. After Rogue One and Last Jedi, I'm done giving them the benefit of the doubt. TFA was fantastic but it's been nothing but trash since then. They need good directors and good writers - you can't just hope that the film universe will hold things together.

I don't think it will be terrible but I also do not expect greatness from it. Here's hoping it's a pleasant surprise.

They've had great directors, but Disney has shackled them. Gareth Edwards original cut of Rogue One was way too dark, so they did major reshoots, to the point the replacement director was given a screenplay credit (a LOT has to change to earn that). Edgar Wright didn't even make it to shooting because Disney wouldn't let him stray too far out of the Marvel house style.

That's what probably makes the Russo Brothers such a good fit for Marvel. They're fantastic directors who are very considerate in every little thing they do, but since they came through TV, they're very used to adapting themselves to the house style.

Personally though, I loved TLJ and Rian Johnson, but I get why people find it so decisive.

If I watch it with the thought of the old movies in my head, I will be disappointed. If I can somehow let it be it's own thing, I think I will enjoy it.

No idea what to expect.

I was not a fan of TFA or Last Jedi which makes me worried for Solo. I was a fan of Rogue one which gives me hope. The trailer seems ordinary at best.

At this stage, leaning towards disappointment but we’ll hope for the best.
