My coworker just had a kidney transplant. He was on the transplant list for 10+ years. Alot of calling out on Monday's from doing dialysis. However, after getting the transplant, he's doing great.

Assuming you were eating correctly while just diabetic, make sure you keep eating right.
I get a lot of vegetarians with renal problems that need to be hospitalized because they overload on potatoes, whole wheat bread, OJ, salt etc.

My Dad went through this.

They may start you out on parataneal (sp?)
Or home dialysis.

He got a live donor kidney from a relative and he was so much better afterwards.

He was snorkeling in hawaii after healing from the surgery.

Hey guys, I'm actually doing quite well. Started peritoneal dialysis a few months back, am feeling a million times better, and am moving toward towards a transplant. I currently have four friends offering their kidneys to me who are a blood match. I also got approved for disability, which takes some of the financial stress off of my shoulders.

I really miss paintball right now. I may crack and get out for some in a few weeks, but I'll have to make some makeshift armor out of foam for my plate carrier to protect my belly and chest area.

Thanks all for the well wishes. It's been tough staying afloat, but I got this. To be honest, this is probably the healthiest I've ever been as far as my general health is concerned. My diabetes is in perfect control, and my lab work continues to get better and better.

I'll try not to be such a ghost from now on.

Much love...
