White Elephant Ideas

I got invited to a white elephant gift exchange.
Max budget is $25 (a few additional dollars is okay)

First year I bought a nerf bow and arrow and it was a huge hit.

Second year I bought a Star Wars monopoly game and a box of 500 bouncy balls. Also awesome.

This year, I’d like to buy something extravagant, in size, they really makes people wonder “what the hell is that giant box.” If it’s cheap enough, I could buy two things, if necessary.

Ideas!?

My family does one every year and things often get put in the wrong sized box or weighted boxes. Last year I put a picture of a chair into a small bag with 6 loose bear bottles so that it rattled when it was shook.

I want the gift to be huge. I get a kick out of things in mass quantities (500 bouncy balls) and gigantic things- especially if they’re not usually huge! Just something underwhelming in an overwhelming fashion’

Put something small and light like a gift card inside an inflated balloon, inside a giant box full of balloons. Opaque balloons, not transparent ones (with confetti/glitter inside if you're feeling extra insidious) with dummy "please try again" cards mixed throughout.

I brought confetti to a New Years party three or fours ago and they’re still finding it. I was almost removed from the guest list after that one. Glitter or more confetti will absolutely get me permanently banned. Lmao

The last white elephant I did had a $20 limit.

I went to the dollar store and bought 20 boxes of Mike & Ike's. I then claimed my own prize back in the last round.

I feel like I won.

Got to a dollar store and look for the largest things they have - by $25 worth and put them in a massive box.

While I admit that is one delicious candy, I try to make it something fun and usable. I would like a few boxes, but that feels like a lot of cavaties. Lol

I donated most of them to my coworkers. It was mostly about making the power move, lol.

I’m dying about “power move.”

Well played.
