Do any of you hipsters listen to records?
I have acquired a handful of 78's and have no use for them, as I love the ****ty quality of CD's. I have maybe 10 booklet's full.. I suppose my best option would be to take pictures of the lists on each booklet and if anything tickles your fancy, you could let me know.

In the meantime, is this even something anyone is into?

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure most of them do. Even in 1960's+ models I only ever see 33 and 45.

This has been a while ago...

Both my kids asked for record players a couple of years ago for Christmas. I think my daughters and her collection were stolen a year or so back. My son has quite the collection now with some really good titles. He was taking such care of them that one of our friends gifted him another with some really valuable and well cared for titles and artists.

Personally I was SUPER happy when CD came about from a space perspective. I was a bit bummed to find that in spite of early claims that were made CD's do degrade over time. Some of my early collection aren't (fully) any good now.

Love the sound of records but I've had to put my turntable and speakers into storage due to a lack of space.

I found im stuck renting 2 bedroom places. then the bigger bedroom becomes a "listening lounge"

side note: ends up Gramaphone Records (78RPMs) typically have much wider spacing in the groves so a modern stylus will have alot of back to forth on it.

LMK if anyone finds a use for laser discs. My defunct player has made some excellent paintball and firearm parts, so it will not be back in service.

Would love to see the list I can get my hands on a fully adjustable table (it’s sitting in my uncles garage).
Do we have a hipster section on here for stuff like this ?
