Vacation

Looking to take the gf away this summer in mid August or November for teachers convention since she's a teacher and has off. Was looking at Disney in FL but I don't know anything about it. Thought that may be nice to get away but still in the States. OR...do we go somewhere outside the US like Bahamas or somewhere tropical. Can you guys please help me out? looking for all inclusive deals. No Dominican Republic.

A NJ teacher not going to lovely Atlantic City for their Teachers Convention? How odd. I thought it was to further their education?

it will depend on your budget. if you stay in the US, the Florida Keys is really nice that time of year. You may need to pack a sweatshirt for the night at the worst.

On Cozumel, the Presidente Intercontinental all inclusive used to be very nice as well. Might be a little safer (or not) than Cancun lately.

I've had friends visiting SC lately; they really liked it.

dont want to sound rude, but what activities can you do in SC? never thought of going there. I was looking at The Royal at the Atlantis. any good or no? I barely go away nor where to go or what to look for. I feel like such a newbie in the traveling world.

Agreed on this ,you need to be mindful down there. I still love it though.

Jump on the train to new orleans.
Amtrak runs from NYC straight in, with multiple stops along the way.
The train trip is part of the experience. Get the sleeper car, your meals are included. The food is not airplane food, can have a nice steak or seafood.

Relax, read, lay cards, watch the countryside go by.
Bring your own bottles of wine if you like.

My wife and I have done it twice now. Really unique way for couples to hang out.

Then of course new Orleans had tons of cool stuff... and dining there is amazing.

Cruise to Bermuda out of Bayone or NYC. No flying and is a great trip. I have done it twice already.

If you go with Disney in FL, make time to go to Kennedy Space Center and the surrounding attractions like the Astronaut Hall of Fame. Very worth it and only 45 minutes or so from Orlando.
