MCB needs an upvote button.

On topic (and this is a great topic), got a couple, but I think top of the list is Billy Joel, And So It Goes.

Some lyrics from "Hamilton" nail it:

"Don’t modulate the key then not debate with me" from Farmer, Refuted

The Room Where It Happens, and Non Stop, too.

"For Billy"

really like this band, and its a great song. Probably not even my favorite, I think they have better tunes.. But damn if it didn't speak to me. Brought me right back to the friend I lost 20 years ago.
"When my times up, I'll come over, say what's up, punch your shoulder, 'cause I love you always."

My redneck half has been flaring up lately, been really digging on Colter Wall and Tyler Childers - in particular Livin on the sand & Devil wears a suit and tie from Colter and Feathered Indians & Whitehouse road from Tyler.

their are some good tracks in this thread already but hip hops not getting any recognition

love Hopsin, former pro skateboarder turned rapper. Hops not about promoting drugs and hoes like most in his genera, he tends to speak on his emotions and life experiences. His Ill Mind series is basically a bunch of deep cuts where he just vents on his life.

Ill Mind 5 reminds me of when I was young and single
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRVOOwFNp5U

Ill Mind 6 is about loosing his best friend to drugs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vuv2mvfO_mg

Ill Mind 7 is about his relationship with God, how he jumped headfirst into religion then felt hoodwinked later when he started asking questions
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBsA2ETp7JA

Ill Mind 8 is about falling out with friends over bad business and leaving the record label he created behind so he could move on, its not as relatable but its still a good track
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbqguu8NsM4

Ill Mind 9 is the last in the series and is about loosing his child to his ex who left the country so dads can relate your a little young for this one tho
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eM9b5C26hvs

Unfortunately due to depression he left this one behind to explain why hes leaving music and the limelight behind, more relatable for famous people but still a deep cut on depression and life, reminds us that were not alone and most people are battling through something
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxqVPcDaYFQ

Bonus: RA the Rugged Man tracks, just more deep cuts on growing up in a struggle.

song where he recounts stories his dad told him about fighting in Vietnam, not so relatable unless your looking to do service but it leads well into the next one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YV2Guv8l2FY

song about growing up with sick siblings affected by agent orange, can be relatable to anyone with handicap family members.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GL90ZmdjZrU

Immortal Technique tends to lean towards government conspiracies and hits hard with world truths

When I hear this track it just reminds me of how the system is structured to keep the 1% at the top and what it truly means to be rich and privileged.

I know I already posted one song, but I've listened to this song at least once day for the last few months. Between the lyrics and the guitar riffs, it's just an amazing song.

RA the Rugged Man is great...Uncommon Valor is an excellent song.

Speaking of rap - Brother Ali has made some songs that have had a great impact on me.

Also, the geto boys, my mind is playing tricks on me is one that has always stuck with me.
