Tragic loss. My most sincere condolences to you and the people he left behind.

Your anger towards his mother is justified, but it won't fix anything, and definitely should not be made evident at JJ's funeral.

I will echo the advice to possibly finding someone to talk to in order to work through your feelings. Or at least find a constructive way to turn your anger into motivation to advocate change or help others.

We are here for you.

Sorry to hear about your loss...just offering to give that boy a good home was more than most anybody would do in your situation. Every man has to choose his path in life and we often forget that every choice we make can have long reaching consequences. It's just too bad that sometimes those consequences can't be undone. My heart goes out to you and your family.

I am in the slap a bitch camp. Go to his funeral, honour his memory like the others you have lost. He never had a chance even though you gave him one.

Sometimes you just have to spit and want to slap a bitch (or a dickhead, I'm equal opportunity) really, really badly.

Your loss is ours too and we love you
You don't need it now, sign your organ donor card dang it! p.s., you don't want my liver... Dirtylittlemo's is lookin pretty good though...

Thank you guys for all the support. Explaining this tragic turn of events to my two eldest was hard as they actually knew and remembered their cousin. He wasn't around much when my two youngest were growing up. I explained as best as I could.
Just so sad to see another great potential just wasted.
Fearlessly, the idiot faced the crowd, smiling...

Leaning into the difficult parts of life doesn't come easy. I can't imagine what it's like to find the bravery to relay this kind of news to your own.

Sometimes, the bravest thing to do is to be vulnerable to those you love. I'm sure they appreciate it. If not now, some day.

Exemplary, Shootist. Absolutely exemplary.

Power to you! One foot in front of the other, brother.

slapping her won't help - she is a lost cause. pouring a bucket of reality over her head won't make a difference - she has been living in a fantasy world for a long time. seen similar situations play out and the slap a bitch route never produces any measurable good

sorry for the loss - it is a tragic waste

Sorry to hear this - prayers and condolences.

I am with a fellow poster. Stay home so you don't have to deal with her...then go visit on your own and get the closure you want/need on your own terms.
