Give-a-way ideas?

We are going to hold our first of many PBC give-a-ways.

So... how should we do this?

One for members, one for general public? One for everyone?

As of right now in our war chest we have a new tippmann paintball gun, a give-a-way donated camo ban-du, and custom made grips being offered up by one of our members.

More items are coming, and we won't do everything at once, but how should we go about it? Ideas and suggestions needed.

I like T-shirts and patches. One can never have enough patches. :D

Will this be raffle style or trivia/game related?

Of course I will drop things in from time to time as well. Some of the stuff you have may be mine anyways. LOL

I say have a little contest for them. Something like, post a short story a really good day of paintball. Then make it a raffle out of all the people who post in that thread. This way you're limiting it to the people who take some interest in winning it, and you ensure that they're a somewhat active user.

I'd also say make at least some of the give-a-ways to the whole forum public, not just PBC members since that will draw some more interest and traffic to the site.

This is along the same lines as what Phantom Power posted, many 3d sites. Have give aways based on a tutorial that people write. Giving say 1 week to do so.

This could be anything along the lines of a review of new gear, what to look for in picking up a new mask, gun etc. This also applied to sites that have allot more members I don't know how well this would work for here or not. However you got to start somewhere.

P.S They normaly set limiations upon the tutorial also.

Do we want this to be a give away or a contest? If it were a give away then I say drop everyones names into a "e-hat" and pull one.

If it were to be a contest of sorts there are tons of options. could be a short stroy or something like previously mentioned. Or you could get crazy and make up a quiz of sorts...maybe soething were you have to score a perfect 100%. It could be complied by the most knowledgable which would of course be exempt.

I say a random give away though.

We could have all types of contests. For example, best story about a day of paintball. Best tutorial or how-to, troubleshooting, or gun review. Best picture of a gun, or best picture of a day playing paintball. Perhaps even best picture of guns needed for VR? If you get the ones VR needs, then you trade rights to the pictures for a prize.

Lots of other options, but I say instead of a free giveaway, try to get something the whole community can use out of it. A how-to, VR info and photos, etc....those are all great things.

I like the "write a story" idea, and then just do a random pick of those people who post a story.

I dig sometimes having it a contest and sometimes having it a straight give-away. Sometimes it's nice not to have to work at your hobby that much. :)

I would say that it would be best to have a give away at the start. If the site grows huge, limit the numbers by a story or such. However, I think that people should have to e-mail in the entry. If it was just a random draw between members. People that never visit the site have a chance of winning if they just made an account.
