Spyder Special Edition
I picked a spyder SE to be used as good back up/loaner marker. I was wondering if any of the older spyder upgrades are worthy of purchase. Is there any current consensuses of whether or not venturi bolts are actually more effective? Also are the ACS anti chop bolts effective?
Also is there any benefit to some of the low pressure upgrades or even the turbo valves? I will most likely just buy a spare parts kits, spring kits, and some sort of aftermarket barrel.
at the current prices you're going to end up spending more money on upgrades than if you just bought a better gun. i would get the anti chop bolt and stop there. no it doesn't work perfectly and it might uncock to prevent a chop which means you might need to cock the gun after chopping, but it's the only widely available delrin bolt that fits your gun currently, and you'd want delrin so it won't wear on your gun body.
an on/off asa might be a good idea if you have a spare, especially if this was going to be a loaner to some noob who might have problems screwing in a tank, but you'll have to mind the metric/standard hose threading headache.
Also, the SE has offset bottomline holes so you wont find a on/off that fits without modefying the gripframe or build an adapter.
My own experience with the ACS bolts is that they are more of an "anti ball chop" then an "anti chop bolt". Get an alamo city paintball bolt or run the stock one and youll be fine.
I would sugest getting a better barrel and some rubber grips, and thats it
se fun gun..change barrel be happy
