I think you do have a Regulator. I'm pretty sure the Electra's have regulators with them.

If you gut the reg, take out the spring, shim, and piston it will work as a gas through ASA.
Possibly. Reason I say it's not a reg is there is no way to adjust pressure on it that I could see. I understand what you're saying as well though.

On the spyder bottom line regs there is a small hex screw on the side.
That is what is used to adjust pressure.

I don't remember if in = higher pressure, or not, I can check tonight.
There is also a standard 1/8th NPT hole for a pressure gauge opposite the adjustment screw.

There is the 1 screw on the side but didn't seem like it did anything. No hole for gauge.
